About Me

It's nice to meet you! I'm Dan.

I began my professional journey in 2009 after finishing my bachelors degree when I began working at a large, community mental health clinic. Over my 6 years there, I developed a passion for helping people struggling with severe and persistent mental illness and the belief that we are all trying our best. I provided services in individual and group settings while also working in crisis intervention and Assertive Community Treatment. Towards the end of my time there, I began facilitating men's trauma groups and was trained in the Trauma and Recovery Empowerment Model for women and for men. I realized how much strength there was behind the struggles for these individuals and knew I wanted to focus my future work to help people in trauma recovery.

I went on to pursue a master's degree and finished in 2017 after a clinical internship in a Personalized Recovery Oriented Services clinic where I facilitated numerous groups including topics on DBT-Skills, mindfulness, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and stress management. I transitioned from solely facilitating groups to providing individual therapy under supervision at an Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic while also facilitating an anger management and men's trauma group before leaving in the beginning of 2020 to focus on developing my private practice. While developing my practice, I received continuing education in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, providing this in a short-term and Solution-Focused model for an employee assistance program.
